The 1.25 inch head of this economy rawhide mallet is made of heavily shellacked, quality rawhide mounted on a hardwood handle. It is used to hammer, flatten and gently shape metal sheet or wire without marring your pieces. For instance, rounding or stretching rings on a steel mandrel or shaping a piece on a bench anvil. Also great for leather-work, and stamping.
Head measures approximately 1.25” (31.8 mm) in diameter and 3” (7 cm) long. Handle measures 10” (25.4 cm).
Net weight is 3.8 oz (107.7 g).
